Professional Water Filtration System Solutions
One of the most common water filtration system problems is low water pressure. With point-of-use setups, you’ll experience the problem with a single fixture or appliance. With point-of-entry systems, you’ll experience low water pressure throughout the home. Often, this issue is due to a blockage within the system. It may be that one of the cartridges has clogged, or foreign matter is impeding flow into the filter media stages. In some cases, the problem may be outside the water filter, such as a buildup between it and the main line.
Often, water filtration system repair is as simple as filter replacement. Most filter media will clog over time or otherwise wear down. Having to replace it after a while is normal. If a cartridge wears quicker than expected, it could indicate a problem. The prefilter may not be working correctly. There may be a higher level of contaminants in the water. Low or high water pressure may have affected the media. Problems can also be due to improper installation or a material defect.
Another potential problem is microbial growth. This can lead to contaminated water even though the water goes through various filtration stages. Bacteria and biofilms can gain a foothold in filters and storage tanks and then build up over time. This can require taking the system offline and breaking it down. Our plumbers can then sanitize all components, put the system back together, and install new filter media.
Water purifiers can leak as well. If that happens, you should disable the system until we get there. The good news is it’s usually a simple fix. We may need to replace an O-ring, tighten a connection, or unclog a drain line.
Waiting to schedule a repair can have a negative impact on your water filtration system, leaving you with:
